Josiah encouraged Vittolio to retain the original apple shape, as well as to add the leaf motifs, but to use the same high-quality industrial glass that the Union Square Lamp Company had pioneered.

The new and improved Apple Lamps were a resounding success, both for for their artistic flair as well as their compact functionality. Once Vilttolio died unexpectedly due to owning many exotic and feral beasts in his two-bedroom apartment, Josiah and the USLC became the sole authorized purveyors of the Martinelli Apple Lamps, which it remains to this day.
